The Greek Theatre

THE GREEK THEATRE

2700 N VERMONT AVE., LOS ANGELES, CA 90027

Opened in 1930.

What I always loved about the Greek was it had the feel of “The Hollywood Bowl”: coliseum structure, great lights, perfect for picnic & date nights, quaintness, and most importantly…horrible parking. I always took the shuttle bus from the Griffith park to the entrance of the arena. So never worried about fighting my way down the mountain.

Holding off Tips & Tricks section because the New Greek (Neo Greek?)  will probably be different than old Greek. “Stuff” is always in flux. What is, quite static, is where to fill your belly. My pick for “Best food” is down the hill at a little bar called Messhall Kitchen. A true sophisticated spot before any Greek showcase.
